Low, mid & high range — the most common charge in Richlands court. Mandatory disqualification applies; preparation decides its length.
Relevant drug present or driving under the influence — two different charges with very different stakes.
Keep driving for your job after a drink or drug driving conviction — must be applied for before sentence.
Keep driving through a points or high-speed suspension — strict 21-day window to apply.
Serious charges where jail is on the table — run properly from day one, in the Magistrates or District Court.
If you’ve been charged and have to go to court, read us your Notice to Appear over the phone and we’ll tell you exactly what it means and how we can help. Free.
General information only, not legal advice. Every matter turns on its own facts — call 1300 952 255 for free, specific advice.
Steven Brough · Founder · Queensland Law Society member · 25+ years in Queensland courts
Steven founded the firm in 2010 and has spent 25+ years in Queensland Magistrates Courts. The approach he built runs through every drug driving matter our lawyers take on — because for the common charge, a work licence is on the table, and the window to apply is short.
When you call, you're tapping into that experience from the first minute — an honest read on your charge, the realistic outcome, and whether a work licence or hardship order is open to you. If we don't think we can improve your result, we'll tell you.

363 George Street — Queensland’s busiest Magistrates Court, with 26 courtrooms. Most Brisbane traffic charges land here. No public parking: Roma Street and Central stations are both a short walk, and represented matters are generally called before unrepresented ones.
Address
If we act for you, we text you the courtroom number that morning and meet you outside it.
Call us and you’ll speak with Belinda or Sara — no scripts, no queue, no being passed around. Belinda has 24 years in the legal industry and has taken thousands of these calls; the first thing she’ll do is put you at ease.
Tell her what’s on your Notice to Appear and what you’re worried about. No judgement — she’s heard it all before.

This is everything people ask us about a day at Richlands court. If we act for you, you won’t need to remember any of it — we brief you the day before and meet you at the door.
Brisbane Magistrates Court is at 363 George Street, in the CBD — 26 courtrooms across several levels. Your Notice to Appear may instead name Holland Park, Sandgate, Wynnum or Richlands; we appear at all of them.
There is no public parking at the court. Use a CBD carpark (King George Square, Myer Centre or nearby), or take the train — Roma Street and Central stations are both a short walk. Allow time and money for either.
Most matters are listed at 8:30 or 9:00am. Arrive by 8:30am — the security queue at a court this size takes time, and you need to find your courtroom before the magistrate sits.
Brisbane Magistrates Court sits Monday to Friday, with many courtrooms running each day. Your listing day is printed on your Notice to Appear — we confirm it when we take your matter on.
Traffic law is all we do. Call for a free, honest read on your charge from a lawyer who was in the Brisbane courtroom this week — and a fixed price before you commit.

Anything else — the call is free: 1300 952 255, 7am–7pm, 7 days.
You’re not required to have one — but for any charge carrying a disqualification, representation makes a real difference. And the court’s duty lawyer generally cannot act for drink driving and most traffic matters, so there’s no free fallback on the day.
Not automatically — for traffic offences the magistrate has a discretion, weighing your age, history and the impact on your job and travel. We argue it wherever it’s realistic; it’s often the most valuable thing won on the day.

Each charge has its own local guide — penalties, what the court expects, and how we defend it here.
