We act for clients across Brisbane CBD, Milton, Fortitude Valley, South Brisbane, Holland Park, Mount Gravatt, Chermside, Sandgate, Wynnum and Carindale — and everywhere else with a date at a Brisbane court.
Low, mid & high range — the most common charge in Richlands court. Mandatory disqualification applies; preparation decides its length.
Relevant drug present or driving under the influence — two different charges with very different stakes.
Keep driving for your job after a drink or drug driving conviction — must be applied for before sentence.
Keep driving through a points or high-speed suspension — strict 21-day window to apply.
Serious charges where jail is on the table — run properly from day one, in the Magistrates or District Court.
If you’ve been charged and have to go to court, read us your Notice to Appear over the phone and we’ll tell you exactly what it means and how we can help. Free.
The short version of what we brief clients on before court — the charges we see most in the Acacia Ridge courts, what decides your penalty, how to keep driving, and the myths worth ignoring.
Completing the Queensland Traffic Offenders Program before court — it runs over 4 days, and we’re a proud sponsor — shows the magistrate you took the charge seriously before anyone made you. Add references and any medical or counselling material. Enrol at qtop.com.au →

This is everything people ask us about a day at the Brisbane courts. If we act for you, you won’t need to remember any of it — we brief you the day before and meet you at the door.
Brisbane Magistrates Court is at 363 George Street, in the CBD — 26 courtrooms across several levels. Your Notice to Appear may instead name Holland Park, Sandgate, Wynnum or Richlands; we appear at all of them.
There is no public parking at the court. Use a CBD carpark (King George Square, Myer Centre or nearby), or take the train — Roma Street and Central stations are both a short walk. Allow time and money for either.
Most matters are listed at 8:30 or 9:00am. Arrive by 8:30am — the security queue at a court this size takes time, and you need to find your courtroom before the magistrate sits.
Brisbane Magistrates Court sits Monday to Friday, with many courtrooms running each day. Your listing day is printed on your Notice to Appear — we confirm it when we take your matter on.
It’s printed on your Notice to Appear or bail undertaking. Lost it? Use the Queensland Courts criminal case lookup online, ring the registry — or call us and we’ll check it for you the same day.
Knowing what the building looks like takes half the nerves out of the morning — here’s the walk in, from the street to the courtroom.
363 George Street sits in the CBD law courts precinct — a short walk from Roma Street and Central stations.
Many magistrates sit at Brisbane Magistrates Court, allocated to courtrooms day by day — you can’t choose who hears your matter, and neither can we. What we can do is know them: our lawyers appear before Brisbane’s magistrates every week, and we know what each gives credit for and what they expect to hear.
A short administrative appearance. The prosecutor hands over the QP9 — the police version of events, with any certificates and your traffic history attached. Nothing is decided unless you choose to plead that day.
Plead guilty and be sentenced (only wise if you’re fully prepared), adjourn to get advice and preparation time — the most common first step — or plead not guilty, and the court orders a brief of evidence and sets a hearing date.
The order takes effect immediately: disqualification dates, fine (payable through SPER on a plan if needed), and any licence steps. We walk you through all of it outside — and if the outcome is genuinely wrong, an appeal to the District Court must be filed within 28 days.

Anything else — the call is free: 1300 952 255, 7am–7pm, 7 days.
You’re not required to have one — but for any charge carrying a disqualification, representation makes a real difference. And the court’s duty lawyer generally cannot act for drink driving and most traffic matters, so there’s no free fallback on the day.
