We act for clients across Maryborough, Tinana, Granville, Aldershot, Tiaro, Howard, Torbanlea, Bauple and Maryborough West — and everywhere else across the Fraser Coast with a date at Maryborough Magistrates Court.
Low, mid & high range — the most common charge in Richlands court. Mandatory disqualification applies; preparation decides its length.
Relevant drug present or driving under the influence — two different charges with very different stakes.
Keep driving for your job after a drink or drug driving conviction — must be applied for before sentence.
Keep driving through a points or high-speed suspension — strict 21-day window to apply.
Serious charges where jail is on the table — run properly from day one, in the Magistrates or District Court.
If you’ve been charged and have to go to court, read us your Notice to Appear over the phone and we’ll tell you exactly what it means and how we can help. Free.

Steven Brough · Founder · Queensland Law Society member · 25+ years in Queensland courts
Steven founded the firm in 2010 with one goal: honest advice, a fixed price, and the best service you've ever had from a law firm. He has spent 25+ years in Queensland Magistrates Courts — the Fraser Coast courts among them — and has personally run thousands of traffic matters.
When you call, you're tapping into that experience from the first minute — an honest read on your charge, the realistic outcome, and whether a work licence or hardship order is open to you. If we don't think we can improve your result, we'll tell you.

Maryborough Magistrates Court is at 170 Richmond Street, a heritage courthouse on the edge of Queen’s Park in central Maryborough, about 255km north of Brisbane. Your Notice to Appear names the court and your date.
There is free and metered street parking around Richmond, Wharf and Adelaide Streets and near Queen’s Park — it fills up on busy mornings, so allow extra time. If you’d rather, meet us at our Hervey Bay office first and we’ll travel to court together. Allow time either way.
Most matters are listed at 8:30 or 9:00am. Arrive by 8:30am — the security queue takes time, and you need to find your courtroom before the magistrate sits.
Maryborough Magistrates Court sits Monday to Friday, with a shorter list on Thursday. Your listing day is printed on your Notice to Appear — we confirm it when we take your matter on.
It’s printed on your Notice to Appear or bail undertaking. Lost it? Use the Queensland Courts criminal case lookup online, ring the registry — or call us and we’ll check it for you the same day.
The court’s running order for the day: every person appearing, their courtroom number and time. Your name appears on it on the day of court only, then it comes down.

Anything else — the call is free: 1300 952 255, 7am–7pm, 7 days.
You’re not required to have one — but for any charge carrying a disqualification, representation makes a real difference. And the court’s duty lawyer generally cannot act for drink driving and most traffic matters, so there’s no free fallback on the day.
The opposite — magistrates see representation as taking the charge seriously. Remember, in court only your lawyer is on your side: the magistrate and the police prosecutor are not.
