Low, mid & high range — the most common charge in Richlands court. Mandatory disqualification applies; preparation decides its length.
Relevant drug present or driving under the influence — two different charges with very different stakes.
Keep driving for your job after a drink or drug driving conviction — must be applied for before sentence.
Keep driving through a points or high-speed suspension — strict 21-day window to apply.
Serious charges where jail is on the table — run properly from day one, in the Magistrates or District Court.
Completing the Queensland Traffic Offenders Program before court — it runs over 4 days, and we’re a proud sponsor — shows the magistrate you took the charge seriously before anyone made you. Add references and any medical or counselling material.

Holland Park Magistrates Court is at 8 Marshall Road, just off Logan Road — a small suburban courthouse in Brisbane’s inner south, about 15 minutes from the CBD. Your Notice to Appear names the court and your date.
There’s free two-hour on-street parking in the streets around the court, with longer-stay spots a little further out. Buses run frequently along Logan Road. Just arrive a little early on a busy day.
Most matters are listed at 8:30 or 9:00am. Arrive by 8:30am — the security queue takes time, and you need to find your courtroom before the magistrate sits.
Holland Park Magistrates Court sits Monday to Friday. It’s a small court, so traffic matters are usually listed on set days — we confirm your listing day when we take your matter on.
A small number of magistrates sit at Holland Park Magistrates Court — you can’t choose who hears your matter, and neither can we. What we can do is know them: our lawyers appear before the Holland Park bench regularly, and we know what each gives credit for and what they expect to hear.

Plead guilty and be sentenced (only wise if you’re fully prepared), adjourn to get advice and preparation time — the most common first step — or plead not guilty, and the court orders a brief of evidence and sets a hearing date.

You’re not required to have one — but for any charge carrying a disqualification, representation makes a real difference. And the court’s duty lawyer generally cannot act for drink driving and most traffic matters, so there’s no free fallback on the day.
