We act for clients across Sandgate, Brighton, Shorncliffe, Deagon, Bracken Ridge, Bald Hills, Boondall, Nudgee and Zillmere — and everywhere else across Brisbane’s bayside north with a date at Sandgate Magistrates Court.
Low, mid & high range — the most common charge in Richlands court. Mandatory disqualification applies; preparation decides its length.
Relevant drug present or driving under the influence — two different charges with very different stakes.
Keep driving for your job after a drink or drug driving conviction — must be applied for before sentence.
Keep driving through a points or high-speed suspension — strict 21-day window to apply.
Serious charges where jail is on the table — run properly from day one, in the Magistrates or District Court.
If your licence is suspended for demerit points on a good behaviour period, or a 40km/h+ speeding offence, a special hardship order can keep you driving for work and essentials. It can be applied for at any time — the sooner the better.
Completing the Queensland Traffic Offenders Program before court — it runs over 4 days, and we’re a proud sponsor — shows the magistrate you took the charge seriously before anyone made you. Add references and any medical or counselling material.

Sandgate Magistrates Court is at 84 Keogh Street, a short walk from the Sandgate foreshore, about 19km north of the Brisbane CBD — a compact heritage courthouse. Your Notice to Appear names the court and your date.
There’s free parking in the streets around Keogh Street — get there early as the closest spots fill fast. Sandgate train station (Shorncliffe line) is a short walk away, with buses nearby too. Allow time either way.
Most matters are listed at 8:30 or 9:00am. Arrive by 8:30am — the security queue takes time, and you need to find your courtroom before the magistrate sits.
Sandgate Magistrates Court sits Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and to 4pm on Wednesday. Your listing day is printed on your Notice to Appear — we confirm it when we take your matter on.
A small number of magistrates sit at Sandgate Magistrates Court — you can’t choose who hears your matter, and neither can we. What we can do is know them: our lawyers appear before the Sandgate bench regularly, and we know what each gives credit for and what they expect to hear.

Plead guilty and be sentenced (only wise if you’re fully prepared), adjourn to get advice and preparation time — the most common first step — or plead not guilty, and the court orders a brief of evidence and sets a hearing date.
The document police gave you — it states your charge, your court and your date.
